Kari and Jeff had been dating for quite some time before he finally proposed, and as Kari says it was "about dang time!" The two are an absolute blast to be around and it's clear by interacting with them just how much they love each other. They started off in camo (and Kari was ready before Jeff was!) and we were able to take some photos with their guns--they do a lot of hunting together. We then took some more traditional portraits in white before switching over to some plaid for photos with Kari's horses, who were super sweet and added a special country touch to the photographs. I can't wait for their wedding this September--it's going to be a blast! I still remember the day one of my childhood best friends, Ashley, told me she was pregnant, as well as the anticipation counting down the days until her new baby was born. After having been friends for nearly 20 years, it's hard not to be extremely excited when one of us has a big life moment! And then the fateful day came in May when Brooklyn was born. I met Brooklyn for the first time a few weeks later at a mutual friend's wedding reception, and she was one of the cutest babies I had ever seen. So, you can imagine my excitement when Ashley arranged a session with me to celebrate Brooklyn's first birthday! We spent the morning out at Silver Lake Park enjoying the great weather and each others company. Brooklyn was fantastic and smiled big for the camera, and we got fantastic photos--though I feel like my job wasn't so hard since she's such a natural cutie ;). Then, at the end of the session, momma and I arrange a special photo--she is pregnant again and wanted to announce her new bun-in-the-oven! Brooklyn is excited to be a big sister, and I'm very excited to have been able to be part of such a special moment. Thanks again, Ashley and Brooklyn, and may you and future baby have many, many happy birthdays to celebrate together! <3 I was first contacted by Denise after she saw the engagement photos I took for Minying and Jason last fall. Denise, currently a medical student in St. Louis, and fiance Brian wanted to take engagement photos in the city before moving for jobs this summer. We met at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, as Denise and Brian first met at the Turkish Pavilion, and the pavilion is where Brian proposed. They even brought along a prop--a bottle of oyster sauce that Brian had kept from their first date, and which he used to propose! After we finished at Tower Grove, we went to Forest Park, where we took photos near the Art Museum and enjoyed the many beautiful bridges in the park. |
