Cierra is a 2016 senior, and also a relative--she's my cousin-in-law! She asked me earlier this year to do her senior photos, and once I eagerly said yes, we coordinated a day-trip up to Champaign. She is from the St. Louis area, so this way her senior photos would be unique, and no one else at her high school would have any like them! We started off the day at the University of Illinois Arboretum, where blooming flowers surrounded us and provided a nice background. We then traveled over to the Japan House before a quick outfit change. We then traveled over to West Side Park in Champaign and finished the day with two more outfits and many more photos in downtown Champaign. We had a fantastic time, and the photos turned out beautifully! Peyton's mom first contacted me about doing a senior session after mentioning that she loved the photos I had taken for Julia earlier that school year. With the days starting to grow short due to the approaching winter months, we quickly scheduled a Saturday session a few weeks away. When the day came, meteorologists were calling for a few inches of snow and cold temperatures...and they were right! While we were taking photos outside the Erwin Weder Museum, Peyton, her mother, her little sister, and I were pelted by ice. But everyone was a trooper, and the photos we took were absolutely gorgeous. Being encouraged by the beautiful images we were capturing, we continued onward to Silver Lake Park and the town square to continue the session. Despite the cold temperatures and our snowy hair, everyone left feeling great about the session, and Peyton's photos turned out fantastic! As a Thank You for all my fans' continued support over the past two years, I held a contest on my Facebook page for a free mini-session, where the winner would win a 1-hour photoshoot with me, as well as 10 finalized images after the shoot. Ana was the grand prize winner! As a Animal Sciences/Pre-Vet undergrad at the University of Illinois, she wanted to do a senior portrait session around campus, and as a U of I grad myself, I was very eager to please! We took photos at all the famous spots around campus, including the Alumni Fountain, the Quad, and of course the Alma Mater. We also visited the Animal Science Lab, where Ana spends most of her time in classes. Plus, we had so much fun, and there were so many amazing photos, that I just had to give her more than ten, and ended up editing 20 photos of her instead :). |
