Makenzie and Josh - Wedding in Mahomet, IL

Makenzie and Josh are such a fun, loving couple through and through. Their wedding day was so happy and full of smiles from start to finish.

The day started off with the gals getting ready at Makenzie’s childhood home outside of Mahomet, while the guys got dressed in their suits at the church. Makenzie did a first look at her home with her bridesmaids and with her dad and brother, which made for very special moments. On the flip side, Josh practiced his first look with Makenzie on his groomsmen, as they attempted to perfect the perfect facial expression for when Josh would turn around for his bride-to-be. Of course, all the practicing didn’t matter when Josh did see Makenzie during their first look! The two were once again all smiles (and maybe a few happy tears) as they saw their soon to be spouse.

Following their first look, the couple and I headed out to Lake of the Woods for some photos of the two of them. Since it was a pretty chilly day (the wind wouldn’t quite settle down for us!), we drove from each location at the park so we could warm up in the car. However, the chill in the air just worked as an excuse to get the two to cuddle up even closer to keep warm, so they did not complain!

Back at the church, Makenzie and Josh both had special moments with their wedding parties, as they took time before the ceremony to have their friends and family pray over them, thanking God for giving everyone this day to celebrate the love that brought them together. The two then celebrated a very meaningful ceremony with all their friends and family, ministered by Josh’s father. After the ceremony, Makenzie and Josh greeted every guest in their seats, which provided them all a chance to chat before the reception began.

After dinner, the newlyweds passed out pie to all the tables, giving them more time to chat with their friends and family. Then the dancing began! After sharing their first dance, the floor opened up for everyone. I would be lying if I said that the groomsmen didn’t have moves! I honestly can’t say that I’ve photographed a wedding where the guests seemed to have as much fun dancing as they did at Makenzie and Josh’s wedding.

Congrats again, Josh and Makenzie! May your marriage be full of love!
