I met Sharon and her mother for our initial meeting, and although Harvey wasn't there at the time, I instantly understood the love the two of them had. The way Sharon talked about Harvey, I couldn't wait to meet him and take photos for their engagement session. And let me tell you, the two of them didn't disappoint :). We met on a Saturday morning in March out at the Japan House at the U of I. The trees were just beginning to blossom for the Spring, and the new greenery provided a fantastic background. As I took their photos, I learned more about this wonderful couple and just how much love they have between the two of them. I can't wait to photograph their wedding this May! Nathan and I are long-time friends, having met our freshmen year of high school, way back when Nathan used to wear orange shoes :). Our friendship has spanned over a decade now, and we've enjoyed many fantastic memories together, from celebrating our senior prom to celebrating my wedding a few years ago, where he was an usher. Getting to see the man that he has become since dating Jennifer, though, has been one of my favorite things about our friendship over all these years. Jenn and I have actually known each other for a long time as well, as she was in my band section back in high school (yay flutes!). It is wonderful to see the amazing woman she has become! Watching these two lovebirds interact is a special thing--they have such an intense, adorable love, and they bring out each others' smiles and laughter with ease. I am so excited to celebrate their wedding with them in a few months and to see all their future has in store! Batiesha and I have been great friends for many years now, having first met back in band in high school and participating in many of the same extra curriculars. She has been involved in theater since I first met her, which is how she met her now fiance Adam. The two have a special nerdy spark in their love--one could say that the force draws them together ;). During Tiesha and Adam's engagement session, we met out at Silver Lake Park in Highland, where we took some traditional photos out in nature, as well as some fun photos involving light sabers and books. One photo sequence involved the battle of fandoms between Star Wars and Harry Potter, with Adam channeling the light side and Tiesha casting spells Adam's way. We then traveled to the Highland square, where Tiesha and Adam changed into more nerdy attire, and took some photos in the Lory Theater. The Lory is where Tiesha and Adam's love blossomed, as the two worked there together. We took more light saber photos and some photos involving sonic screwdrivers and then took some photos around the square. |
